Job Search and Business Development Program
RESTORE THE BALANCE between a need for a livelihood and the need for a
healthy environment. Break this destructive cycle of poverty and
environmental degradation.

Introduction:
The quality of life for present and future generations is inextricably linked to the
health of the environment and the controlled management of natural resources.
Many natural resources are in decline due to overfishing, cut and burn farming
practices, pollution and poor water management etc. This has created are large pool
of poor and needy without a secure income and a bleak future:
A never ending downward spiral of poverty and environmental destruction.

Aim:

To find employment and start up and develop environmentally sustainable business,
for women, fishermen, farmers, and other needy individuals, groups and
communities. Creating financial security therefore taking the pressure off natural
resources and at the same time reviving the health of the environment.
R.O.L.E. programs are targeted and in support of the U.N. Millennium Development
Goals.

R.O.L.E.’s 3 Vocational Skills Programs:

These vocational programs aim to educate re-skill and teach modern business thinking
and employer expectations around eco-friendly fields. R.O.L.E. is teaching 3
Vocational Skills programs targeted at women, coastal and land based communities.
· Women’s Vocational Skills Education Program
· Marine Revival and Ocean Resource Management Program
· Eco-Learning Center Program
Our graduates will be ready for the challenge and be an asset to any company
or team. As well as office, communications and basic English skills, graduates
have been trained in:
1. Employer expectations
2. Character building
3. Work ethics
4. Self esteem
5. Hygiene, health, manners and deportment

This Program
R.O.L.E. Job Search and Business Start Up Team
The R.O.L.E Foundation job search and business start up team are working on the
following:

1. Place Graduates in Jobs - Court businesses to arrange trial, trainee and fulltime
employment for graduates of the Women’s Vocational Skill’s Education Course.
Staff conditions and welfare are a concern for R.O.L.E. Checked at potential
employers.

2. Help Start Up Small Businesses – Help start up businesses for graduates,
partnerships or community groups, who have completed courses through the
Marine Revival and Ocean Resource Management Program or the Eco-Learning
Center Program. They will be helped with:
· Putting together the agreements, approvals and legal’s needed
· Setting up a business plan
· Setting up budgets and projections
· Arranging Finance
· Marketing and sales
· Day to day operations
· Monitoring and reporting
· Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Tax reporting

The Business Studies in our programs are in the following business types:
· Eco-Construction
· Body and Mind
· Agriculture
· Eco-Friendly Services & Products
· Aquaculture

3. R.O.L.E. Foundation Labeled Eco-friendly Product – Use R.O.L.E. product as a

catalyst for developing businesses. For example T-shirts made from organic cotton
grown in Sumbawa, colored by natural dyes in Lombok and sewn by hand in Bali.
· Create Jobs in retail and wholesale.
· Create small business for growers, weavers, carvers, packaging etc, in
their local and remote islands areas.

4. Help New Business Ventures starting up in Indonesia

· Environmentally friendly
· Employ graduates from our faculty and the needy
· Start Business in areas of high unemployment and needy areas
