Komang Nuriani from Banja Bualu Benoa

Her name is Komang Nuriani and she is 12 years old and has four brothers.  Before entering the ROLE Foundation’s Literacy School in September 2008, she could not read or write Indonesian.  She never attended school because of a serious illness since she was very young.  She comes from a poor family whose parents live in a simple rental home.  Her father works as a laborer and carpenter, while her mother occasionally earned extra money looking for firewood to sell or sometimes she was able to sell materials for Balinese ceremonies.
