R.O.L.E. also believes the most effective way to ensure a healthy environment and eradicate poverty is to educate, re-skill, and create alternative environmentally friendly opportunities for individuals and local communities, enabling them to make a reasonable income, therefore taking the pressure off natural resources. |

Organic Farming |
R.O.L.E. Foundation has begun organic farming at the Eco-Learning Center in the Bukit. Through permaculture and organic farming R.O.L.E. Foundations hopes to create jobs and business opportunities for the local community as well as promoting organic local produce as a food source. The passion fruit vines have been planted that will hopefully grow big and strong, and cover the bamboo and stick roofs of the two open structures. Mr Jork from Alila Hotel Group with his Organic manager, Mr Gede Sugita provided the knowhow and engineering behind this. Role has a 25 year lease over 15,500 square meters of land at Sawangan, Nusa Dua, Bali Island.

We had a very quiet ceremony last Friday 20th April, 2008. The land is positioned on the east south east end of the Bukit.
