Organic Farming
R.O.L.E. Foundation has begun organic farming at the Eco-Learning Center in the Bukit. Through permaculture and organic farming R.O.L.E. Foundations hopes to create jobs and business opportunities for the local community as well as promoting organic local produce as a food source. The current situation in Bali is environmentally unsustainable with much of the produce on supermarket shelves imported from Australia, Europe and the rest of the world.

Several Passion Fruit vines have been planted around the organic farming bamboo structures where they will provide shade for future crops. Almost everything that Role Foundation plants around the Eco-Learning Center will be able to be used, whether it be for food, medicine, natural products or shade.
Role Foundation is currently growing Cacao, Balinese coffee, White and yellow turmeric, Aloe vera, sweet potato, passion fruit, ginger, tomato, radish, Malabar spinach, green lettuce, coriander, kecur, marus, temu tis (a type of wild ginger used in the making of Jamu) and chili and will look to increase diversity over the coming months.
