Mission: ROLE Foundation seeks to revitalize coastal environments and communities through the education of women and children and the management of environmental issues.
ROLE believes that poverty and environmental degradation are inextricably linked. The most effective way to ensure a healthy environment and to eradicate poverty is, not only through environmental assistance projects, but through education, environmental awareness building, and the creation of eco-friendly job opportunities. ROLE engages in all of the above.
PROGRAMS
ROLE programs cover three areas:
- Women’s Literacy and Vocational Skills
- Children’s Environmental Awareness
- Eco-Friendly Business Start Up
- Environmental Restoration and Waste Management Projects
To deliver these programs, ROLE runs two facilities: the Siligita Town Learning Center and the Eco-Learning Center in Sawangan. Both facilities are situated in Nusa Dua in the southern region of Bali, Indonesia.
Each year, ROLE educates and provides employment assistance for 200 women, welcomes over 2000 children and visitors to the Eco-Learning Center.
