Courses / Program
Three Courses Daily: 9am-12noon, 1.30pm – 4.30pm and 5pm – 8pm. This allows students to fulfill family and work commitments. (Most students who are working are working in non paying family jobs).
-
Following evaluation the students are broken into two grades; Grade A – Illiterate; and Grade B – Intermediate.Grade A offers a three month illiteracy course. Students are enrolling for this on a monthly basis. There are 3 of these courses running simultaneously.
-
Grade B offers a one month rotational Intermediate, ‘bridge’ course. The students are examined on the completion of these courses. They then have the option to stay on and repeat the course – as many times as required to gain the skill level necessary to pass – or to move on to the next grade. After they have passed both the Illiteracy and Intermediate courses, they advance to a three month vocational course.
It is predicted that the illiterate students will take between six to twelve months to advance to the Intermediate Course, and the intermediate students, three to six months to advance to the Three Month Vocational Course.
The students should have the skills required to make it through the 3 month Vocational Course – Grade C. Though they may repeat this course if necessary.
In these first three courses, the participants are actually an amalgamation of two groups of students. The Job Creation/Further Education students (who are generally aged between 15-25 years old) and the Business Development Students (who are generally aged over 25 years old).
